LOCAL ACTION GROUP NAPOCA POROLISSUM (Romania)
The LAG (Local Action Group) is a public-private partnership financed through the LEADER program of the National Program for Rural Development, which uses a ”bottom-up” approach in order to contribute to the socio-economic development of its territory. It stretches across 13 rural administrations and a town within the Cluj county (Aghireșu, Căpușu Mare, Gilău, Măguri Răcătău, Izvoru Crișului, Mănăstireni, Rîșca, Mărișel, Beliș, Mărgău, Călățele, Săcuieu, Sâncraiu and Huedin). GAL Napoca Porolissum has been functioning since 2011 and has since provided information, technical advice and financing for numerous public and private projects in the rural area it covers.
GAL Napoca Porolissum has extensive experience in rural development. As part of this domain, it has participated in the following activities relevant to the application:
1. As part of the local strategy development for the first Leader program, it has provided training and assistance to potential beneficiaries of LEADER financing. It has performed local consultations with representatives of the public, private and NGO sectors in its territory. It has performed dissemination of information meetings, promotion events and other similar activities.
2. The LAG is now in the middle of the implementation of the second Leader program and, for that purpose, is currently performing promotion and information activities to raise awareness of the financing opportunities it offers to rural private entrepreneurs and rural public institutions and communities.
3. In 2015, the association has been a partner in the CALITEX project, financed by the EU and the Romanian Government, through the Operational Program for Human Capital. Activities: organising training programs for cooks and pastry chefs.
